Another Yankees legend is leaving the game.
Yankees lefty Andy Pettitte will announce his retirement Friday afternoon, first speculated by Joel Sherman and confirmed by Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Pettitte's start on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants will be his last at Yankees Stadium. The Yankees also plan to honor legendary closer Mariano Rivera on that day.
Pettitte has "retired" before. The 41-year old sat out the 2011 season before he was lured back to New York, where he pitched to a 15-14 record with a 3.60 ERA in the last two seasons. In his career, Pettitte has a 255-152 record with a 3.82 ERA, making him a borderline Hall of Fame candidate. His admission to using human growth hormones after he was included in the Mitchell Report may damage his candidacy.
The Houston native will make his final career start close to home: at Minute Maid Park against the Astros this weekend. Pettitte spent his only three years away from the Yankees with the Astros, pitching for Houston from 2004-06.
