Aaron Hicks injury: Twins center fielder suffering from concussion-like symptoms

Twins center fielder Aaron Hicks is exhibiting "concussion-like symptoms" after crashing into the wall during Thursday's game against the Dodgers, as Fox Sports North's Tyler Mason reports. He left the game as a precaution, but if he continues to show signs of a possible concussion, he could be placed on the seven-day disabled list.

Hicks was attempting to make a play on a flyball hit by Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke and collided with the wall. Van Slyke ended up with a triple on the play after the ball deflected off of Hicks' glove. He hit the back of his head against the wall and was down for some time after the play. He stayed in the game until the seventh inning.

Hicks is hitting .178/.315/.260 with one home run, seven runs batted in, and two stolen bases in 89 plate appearances.

The Twins recently claimed outfielder Sam Fuld on waivers from the Athletics. He is the most likely replacement for Hicks having started 57 games in center field during his seven-year career. The club doesn't have many other options in center despite a long list of outfielders on their roster. Catcher/outfielder Chris Hermann, Jason Kubel, and Chris Colabello are currently the only other active outfielders with Minnesota, and none of them would fare well in center. Oswaldo Arcia and Josh Willingham are currently on the disabled list.
