Red Sox trade rumors: Andrew Miller drawing interest from Pirates, Braves, Royals, Dodgers, Nationals

The left-hander is likely to be moved before the deadline on Thursday.

With Jake Peavy off to San Francisco, left-hander Andrew Miller may be the next Red Sox pitcher to be traded. Miller is being actively shopped by the Red Sox and is drawing strong interest from the Braves (per David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution), the Pirates (per Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review), the Royals (via Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com), the Dodgers, and the Nationals (as reported by Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com).

The Braves have been looking for left-handed bullpen help all summer, and according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, are considering Miller as their "prime bullpen target" with four days to go before the deadline. Pittsburgh and Kansas City are known to be scouting him heavily, with the Dodgers interested in Miller as well as starter Jon Lester as they work to make another blockbuster with the Red Sox.

Miller, 29, is a free agent after the season and is not expected to re-sign with the Red Sox, meaning that they would be wise to move him now in order to receive some value in return for him. He has posted a 2.45 ERA and 14.5 K/9 ratio in 48 games so far in what is shaping up to be his most productive major league season yet,.
