Good morning baseball fans. Yesterday was filled with a bunch of rumors, and even some actual moves. Today should be even more chaotic. Not everything that happened yesterday will get into the Daily Dish, and that's why it's so crucial to keep your eyes locked onto our 2015 MLB Winter Meetings stream. Every rumor, move and update will be in there as soon as they happen.

The big news coming out of yesterday is the trade that isn't to be between the Dodgers and the Reds involving Aroldis Chapman. The deal is currently on hold after word got out about an alleged domestic violence incident that involved the Reds closer.

Another major storyline playing out on the first day of the Winter Meetings was the rumors surrounding Jose Fernandez's future with the Miami Marlins. Publicly the Marlins said that they are not trading Fernandez, while other reports are indicating that they are making progress towards a deal. With these being the Marlins and Jeffery Loria, anything is possible and nothing should be ruled out.

As of now, it appears that the Marlins are going to deny that they're listening to offers on Fernandez, but that doesn't mean much. Just last year at the winter meetings in San Diego, Farhan Zaidi said "we are not dangling [Dee Gordon]. He is our second baseman", but just two days later he was a member of the Marlins.

Players are often deemed "untouchable", but in reality nearly everyone in the game can be had for a certain price. If a team were to offer the Marlins a package of five or six players with top prospects and MLB ready talent, Miami could ultimately decide to pull the trigger. Fernandez is undoubtedly valuable, but the Marlins could upgrade their team significantly through a trade.

Miami is also making progress on an extension with second baseman Dee Gordon.

In terms of moves yesterday, we had the Mariners acquiring Wade Miley from the Red Sox in a 4-player deal.

Also, the Cubs re-signed Trevor Cahill to a one-year, $4.25 million deal.

The Cubs are discussing Javier Baez in trade talks with the Rays.

Speaking of the Rays, Tampa Bay has talked with Jake Odorizzi about an extension.

Ben Zobrist's market is continuing to shrink. Zobrist wants to have a set position, and prefers to play second base, leaving it down to the Nationals and Mets battling for his services.

Today in Baseball History: In 1914, after weeks of rumors, Connie Mack sells Eddie Collins to the White Sox for $50,000 and Collins signs a five year deal worth $75,000.

Question of the Day: Would you trade 5 or 6 young players for Jose Fernandez?
