Good morning baseball fans. Yesterday started off slow, but ended in style with a number of big time moves happening. As always, keep it locked to MLB Daily Dish and the 2015 Winter Meetings stream for the latest news and rumors as they happen.
The biggest news would have to be the Diamondbacks trading Dansby Swanson, Ender Inciarte and Aaron Blair to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Shelby Miller. Atlanta was originally asked for A.J. Pollack in return for Miller, but this package is certainly better.
Before this news broke, the biggest move of the day was the Cubs coming out of nowhere and inking Ben Zobrist to a 4-year, $56 million deal.
In order to make room at second base for Zobrist, the Cubs turned right around and traded Starlin Castro to the Yankees.
Chris Davis' name hasn't been talked about a lot at the Winter Meetings, but rumors around him are starting to heat up. The Baltimore Orioles have made an offer to their former player, with said offer being close to $150 million.
The Royals, Cubs and Giants are interested in Gerardo Parra.
Brett Lawrie could be on the move, with the A's discussing a deal surrounding the third basemen with the Chicago White Sox.
Lawrie has drawn interest from multiple clubs in recent weeks, with the Angels, Indiansand Tigers reportedly among the most intrigued. Oakland's addition of Jed Lowrie made it likely that the A's would look to trade Lawrie due to the weak free-agent market for third baseman.
The White Sox currently have Mike Olt slated to start at third base and Carlos Sanchezas the projected starter at second base, so it was expected that they would try to acquire a proven infielder at the Winter Meetings. They appear to be moving toward a deal for Lawrie, who has the ability to play both second and third and would start for the ChiSox.
The outfield market is beginning to heat up, with the Angels, Giants, Tigers and Royals being interested in Yoenis Cespedes.
Speaking of the Angels, they have also explored Justin Upton and Jason Heyward as potential options.
Baltimore is interested in Mitch Moreland and Adam Lind.
