The Los Angeles Angels have signed closer Huston Street to a two-year, $18 million deal, according to Chris Cotillo. The deal will keep Street in an Angels uniform through the 2018 season.
Street came to the Angels from the Padres in a July trade last season and posted a 1.71 ERA in 28 appearances for Los Angeles, saving 17 games down the stretch. Street had a 1.37 ERA and 41 saves overall this season.
The 31-year-old is off to another strong start in 2015, with a 3.07 ERA and 11 saves in 15 appearances. He has walked just five and struck out 16 in 14⅔ innings.

-
Astros option Grossman, Chapman; Springer, Oberholtzer return to major league club - The Crawfish Boxes
"The one interest aspect of Grossman being sent down, rookie Preston Tucker is still with the team. Tucker is 1-for-10 since being called up and is currently the only backup outfielder. Does this mean the Astros have moved one from Robbie Grossman?" -
3 Reasons not to panic about the Oakland A's terrible start - Athletics Nation
"Things aren't as bad as they look. Not even close. For starter's, the A's aren't even the worst team in MLB -- they're a half-game better than Philadelphia, so they actually rank 29th instead of 30th. Look at that, even at our darkest hour someone else has it worse! Don't you feel 3.3% better?" -
Is something wrong with Elvis Andrus? - MLB Daily Dish
"This year, at first glance, Andrus seems to be a horror show, hitting .233/.299/.301 (a 69 OPS+). That abysmal performance is thanks, primarily, to a .265 BABIP that is completely out of line with the rest of his career. In many ways, at the plate, he is still the same player the Rangers signed to that extension back in 2013." -
Leonys Martin likely sidelined for several days with injury - Dallas Morning News
"Martin missed his second consecutive start because of the injury, incurred when he was jammed by a pitch on Monday. Martin, who said the hand "doesn’t feel good,’’ was held out of the pre-game activities." -
Sam Freeman now a Texas Ranger, Stolmy Pimentel DFA'd - Lone Star Ball
"Freeman, who went to high school in Carrollton, had a 1.12 ERA in 8 IP over 8 outings in Round Rock, with 8 Ks and 6 walks. Lefties had a .071/.235/.143 line against him in 17 plate appearances."
