Orioles, Brewers discussing Gerardo Parra trade

The outfielder could go to the O's soon, according to sources.

The Orioles have emerged as a strong possibility for Brewers' trade candidate Gerardo Parra, according to a major-league source.

Baltimore is known to be looking for offense and has been linked to plenty of available outfielders in advance of Friday's trade deadline. One report said tonight that a deal was done between the O's and Brewers involving Parra and Zach Davies, but Parra remaining in Milwaukee's game tonight signals that no deal is complete.

Parra is expected to be traded by the deadline after the Brewers aggressively moved Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers to the Astros on Thursday night. Their asking price is said to be high on him, so it is unknown if a straight-up deal involving Davies would get the job done.

Parra has also been linked to the Angels and Mets most prominently this summer, though deals with those two clubs seem unlikely for Milwaukee at this time. Baltimore appears to be a leading candidate.
