The Angels lost their General Manager and starting pitching is drawing more interest as a the deadline approaches.

Marlins starting pitching drawing interest

Mat Latos, Dan Haren, Tom Koehler, and Brad Hand are all drawing a notable amount of interest. While Latos and Haren will become free agents, both Hand and Koehler are controllable starting options. Miami has depth after Jose Fernandez returned to the rotation.

Tigers acquire Alexi Casilla

Casilla was set to join Detroit's Triple-A affiliate. He batted .315/.379/.449 through 37 games with the Rays' Triple-A club.

Angels interested in LJ Hoes

Hoes, 25, is being "aggressively shopped" and would give the Angels depth over the next few weeks.

Rangers option Joey Gallo, activate Josh Hamilton

Gallo was initially called upon to play third base and was eventually moved into the outfield in order for his bat to remain in the lineup. But with the return of Hamilton, there was nowhere to place the power-hitting prospect.

Jerry Dipoto resigns as Angels General Manager

Dipoto's resignation marks the end of a period of drama and chaos in Anaheim that was started by a FOXSports.com report that stated how tensions between Dipoto and manager Mike Scioscia were once again rising, this time due to difference in philosophy about how analytics should be distributed to players. Star first baseman Albert Pujols was said to be involved in a heated exchange during a recent team meeting, opening the public's eyes to what appeared to be a sharp divide within the Angels' organization.

Twins promote Miguel Sano

Sano batted .274 through 286 at-bats in Double-A. He was initially expected to join the Twins last season but underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery in 2014.

Orioles attempting to trade Delmon Young

Young, 29, signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract to stay with the Orioles last offseason. He posted a .270/.289/.339 batting line to complement two home runs and 16 RBIs through 52 games.

Mariners promote Chris Taylor

Taylor, 24, struggled in 67 games over the past two seasons with Seattle. However, he was batting .285 in Triple-A before being promoted.

Astros' George Springer out with wrist injury

Springer was hit by a pitch during Wednesday night's contest against the Royals. He was thriving offensively and has had a notable amount of success in the leadoff spot.

Cardinals fire scouting director

Chris Correa was fired after just being promoted this past winter. He was reportedly involved in hacking the Astros' database.

Phillies place Aaron Harang on 15-day disabled list

Harang was mentioned in trade talks but will now be sidelined with a foot injury.

Athletics acquire Cody Martin from Braves

Atlanta received international slot money in exchange for the right-hander.

Dodgers sign Trevor Cahill to minor league deal

Cahill posted a 7.52 ERA with the Braves but will receive another opportunity and gives Los Angeles depth.

He is still due $4 million but the Dodgers are prepared to move on.
