Minor Moves 9/6
Blue Jays claim Matt Dominguez
Toronto claimed Dominguez off waivers on Sunday morning, according to Sportsnet.ca's Ben Nicholson-Smith. In order to create a roster spot for the infielder, the Blue Jays designated Danny Dorn for assignment in the corresponding roster move.
Dominguez, 26, has not been able to earn a starting spot despite the fact he was once regarded as a top prospect. The Astros gave him an opportunity however he was unable to be consistent and did not have a notable amount of success. Milwaukee claimed him earlier in the year but Dominguez did not perform well enough in Triple-A to be promoted.
Dorn is a lifetime .280 hitter who spent nine seasons in the minors.
Orioles add Andy Wilkins
Wilkins was designated for assignment by the Dodgers earlier in the week and the Orioles announced they added the infielder on Sunday. He will be sent to Triple-A but has a spot on the 40-man roster after Baltimore designated Cesar Cabral for assignment.
Wilkins, 26, is batting .249/.307/.472 to complement 18 home runs and 70 RBIs over 105 games with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate.
Dodgers recall Chris Heisey
Los Angeles recalled Heisey and designated Daniel Coulombe for assignment, according to MLB.com's Dylan Hernandez.
Heisey spent time with the Blue Jays earlier in the year and is batting .241/.370/.495 over 66 contests in Triple-A. He is batting .154 over games with the Dodgers this season.
