Good morning baseball fans! Who enjoyed some thrilling October baseball last night? I know I did. I should probably go to the doctor and get these newly formed ulcers checked out, but it was so worth it.

Here’s a roundup of what’s happening in the American League East.

Incase you missed it (what else could you have possibly been doing?), Jake Arrieta turned the tables on Madison Bumgarner last night/this morning. Bumgarner has been unhittable in all of his playoff appearances, creating his own personal folklore to pair with the magic of even years. However... “I’ll Be My Own Run Support” Arrieta brought a bat to a pitching fight and rocked a three run shot off of MadBum, effectively ending his postseason streak. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

The Braves are closing in on finding a new manager. Three candidates have entered the arena, but only one candidate will be crowned the newest skipper in Atlanta.

“The Braves have narrowed their managerial search down to three candidates, according to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball. The contenders are former Rangers manager Ron Washington, former Padres manager Bud Black, and interim manager Brian Snitker.”

Today on “Ridiculous Amounts of Money in Baseball”, the Tigers nearly paid Chris David $200 million. They were torn between that and purchasing a small European country, but offering it to David was decided via coin toss. However, if Tiger’s owner Mike Ilitch is still looking to get rid of that chump change, I’d be happy to take it off his hands.

“There’s a limit as to how far one should go to pay for a player and $200 million might be a tad too far. Tigers owner Mike Ilitch wanted to spend that much money on Chris Davis alone, according to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball. The reason this deal wasn’t done was because GM Al Avila nixed the idea.

Davis went on to sign a seven-year/$161 million deal while the Tigers signed Justin Upton to a six year deal worth $132.75 million.”

The Cleveland Indians completed their sweep of Boston in the ALDS today, and with it cementing the last time David Ortiz will don a Red Sox uniform. Loved him or hated you, you have to give credit where credit is due and acknowledge that Ortiz’s career is one for the history books. Baseball fans across the nation became emotional when Big Papi came out onto the field to say so long one last time...well everyone except for the New York Metropolitan area.
