Texas will prioritize adding a center fielder this winter, according to Jeff Wilson of The Fort-Worth Star-Telegram.

Ian Desmond and Carlos Gomez could be re-signed by the Rangers this off-season, but regardless, the Rangers will likely be forced to add outfield depth. Both add power and have solid arms defensively, as Wilson points out.

Here’s the latest from around the American League West:

  • Though the Mariners didn’t have the best of seasons and fell short of making the playoffs, they have two potential Gold Glove winners on their roster.

  • There are changes coming for Houston’s broadcasting team, and as a result, the Astros will be forced to turn to two new voices in the booth.

  • Is Ricky Nolasco’s performance sustainable? The Angels might consider other veteran alternatives in the coming seasons.

  • Chip Hale will return to be Oakland’s third base coach next season.

  • Texas lost a front office executive who will now serve as Minnesota’s general manager.
