Good morning baseball fans!
The Angels signed Ben Revere to a one-year deal:
Revere, 28, was non-tendered by the Nationals earlier in the month after hitting .217/.260/.300 with 14 stolen bases in 103 games last season. He will serve as a fourth outfielder behind Cameron Maybin, Mike Trout and Kole Calhoun for the Angels after the club spent last season with a pronounced lack of outfield depth.
Detroit signed Alex Avila to a one-year contract Friday afternoon.
Now that Edwin Encarnacion is set to join the Indians, the Rangers seem to be the favorite to land Mike Napoli.
The Orioles are in need of an outfielder and a leadoff man, and Rajai Davis might be the ideal candidate.
Atlanta signed Ender Inciarte to a five-year extension:
Inciarte was slated to become a free agent after the 2020 season, so the deal extends Atlanta’s control over him by two seasons. The contract covers all four arbitration seasons for Inciarte, plus two free-agent seasons, if the option is exercised in 2022.
Pittsburgh claimed Nefi Ogando off waivers, the club announced.
It didn’t take the former Marlins lefty long to find a new team:
LHP Alevis Araujo, who was DFA'd today by #Marlins, will play in Japan for Chunichi Dragons.
