The team may turn its attention to Ziegler or Feliz after losing out on Mark Melancon.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — The Nationals are pursuing free-agent relievers Brad Ziegler and Neftali Feliz, sources told SB Nation Monday afternoon. Washington lost closer Mark Melancon to the Giants earlier in the day, and are expected to begin focusing on alternative bullpen options.

Things have been relatively quiet on both relievers so far this offseason, with most of the attention being focused on the trio of Melancon, Kenley Jansen and Aroldis Chapman. With Melancon off the board, it appears the second tier of Ziegler and Feliz will see an uptick in their markets.

Ziegler has drawn interest from at least 12 clubs, including all but one playoff team from last season, a source said. Feliz is likely looking for a 3-year deal on this market.

Washington may also consider a trade for Royals closer Wade Davis, who is readily available in talks. The Nats pursued Davis at the trade deadline over the summer, but would not part with Lucas Giolito for him.
