The Dodgers are interested in Royals closer Wade Davis and outfielder Lorenzo Cain, according to Andy McCullough of The Los Angeles Times.
Los Angeles is likely considering closing options in the event it is unable to sign free agent closer Kenley Jansen, who is a free agent also drawing interest from the Marlins and could be considered by the Yankees.
Though it’s unclear whether the Royals are open to moving Davis, he’s coming off of a solid season and would likely yield a significant return. Over 43.1 innings, Davis pitched to a 1.87 ERA and 2.29 FIP to complement 27 saves.
Davis is eligible for free agency after in 2018, and Cain is in a similar position. He batted .287 over 103 games with the Royals last season.
The Dodgers have been among the more active teams at the Winter Meetings and signed Rich Hill to a three-year deal Monday afternoon. Still, the club seems open to adding to its bullpen and outfield.
