Good morning baseball fans!
Baltimore made a big move Saturday night, signing Yovani Gallardo to a three-year deal:
The deal includes a fourth-year option valued at $13 million and a $2 million buyout, according to Cotillo. Gallardo will receive $9 million in 2016, $11 million in 2017 and $13 million in 2018, and the deal includes some deferrals. Gallardo did not receive a no-trade clause, and the deal includes some small awards packages as its only incentives.
San Diego added Casey Janssen on a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training.
There is a chance Aroldis Chapman gets banned from Spring Training, according to Joel Sherman of The New York Post.
Dexter Fowler remains on the Orioles' radar after the Gallardo signing:
#orioles have been talking to Fowler's agent about 2 year deal for around $24 million, plus an option, per source.
