Tampa Bay added catching depth Saturday afternoon, acquiring Carlos Corporan from the Yankees.
Corporan, 32, signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees this winter and hit just .167/.219/.200 in 16 spring training games. He lost out on the team's backup catcher job toAustin Romine, and considered opting out of his minor-league deal with New York earlier in the week.
Atlanta designated Emilio Bonifacio and Michael Bourn for assignment.
Carlos Torres received a one-year, major league deal from the Brewers.
