When it's bad, it's bad. That's where it's at for Mets right-hander Matt Harvey. Nothing seems to be working, yet the Mets appear hesitant to remove him from the rotation. And that's causing some to question why they won't give him some rest.
If the Mets believe it's a focus/stamina issue, a potential skipped start or two-week DL stint may be exactly what Harvey needs to reboot and get back to his old ways. With the way the top of the rotation is gelling, and with the team within striking distance of first, balancing winning and not wasting Harvey starts is going to become crucial in the coming months.
