Matt Harvey's 2016 isn't off to the start than most Mets fans had in mind. So far in 2016, Harvey is sporting a 2-4 record with a 4.76 ERA, and fell last night to the Braves. His manager, Terry Collins, is potentially pointing to 2015 as the reason for the early struggles.
Harvey, on the other hand, tends to disagree, saying that he feels that this is mainly a mechanics issue and that he is working to get rid of that.
More news from around the National League East:
- Cameron Rupp worked on changing his swing, and both he and the Phillies are reaping the benefits. Rupp has 10 hits in his last 34 at-bats and the combo of him and fellow catcher Carlos Ruiz rank 2nd in slugging, 4th in hits and 4th in OPS.
- Despite taking down Matt Harvey last night, the Braves are playing like one of the worst teams in MLB history.
- Two years ago, the Marlins traded Nathan Eovaldi, Garrett Jones and Domingo German for Martin Prado and David Phelps. Looking at the deal now, after Phelps missed as a starter, the Marlins still might be getting the better end of this all.
- Washington's bullpen is surprisingly finding itself atop the National League.
