Through three starts at Triple-A, Tim Lincecum has dazzled with a 2.65 ERA, .77 WHIP and 19 strikeouts over 17 innings. His last start was his best, where he carried a no-hitter through five innings and finished by allowing only one hit over seven scoreless innings.
After this blazing start, the Angels are ready to get Lincecum up to the big leagues, and he is going to join the rotation this weekend, with Saturday being his debut in an Angels uniform.
More from around the American League West:
- It took a while for Ian Desmond to find a new home after hitting the open market this winter, but after recent success with the Rangers, it looks as though the chances are growing that Texas will be his new home.
- Looking at what their expectations were for Carlos Correa in 2016, the writers over at Crawfish Boxes got together to talk about those and whether or not the shortstop has lived up to them.
- The A’s placed starter Sean Manaea on the 15-day disabled list with a left forearm strain after coming out of his last start in the fifth inning. Manager Bob Melvin gave some encourage news when he announced that there was damage to the muscle but not the ligament and that Manaea should be back in the realm of that 15-day mark.
- To the surprise of many, the Mariners offense is looking more and more like an offense from the time machine, and they are doing it at Safeco Field.
