While teams haven’t expressed much interest in Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to this point, that could change in the near future.
Even though Colorado has played close to five-hundred baseball, the club is expected to field offers for Gonzalez, according to FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman.
The calls haven’t started coming in for Carlos Gonzalez. The Rockies are expected to listen, though they are playing pretty well at the moment. “It’s nice to focus on winning,” GM Jeff Bridich said.
If the Rockies feel they can upgrade their roster at a reasonable price leading up to the deadline, they could be buyers. Regardless, Gonzalez will likely be linked to a number of teams in the coming weeks.
More from around the National League West:
- Arizona reliever Brad Ziegler has had a notable amount of success inducing ground ball and it isn’t going unnoticed.
- San Diego signed Edwin Jackson, who was a Padres target a few seasons ago, to a minor league deal. However, he might not have a great chance to make the roster.
- Rockies starter Tyler Chatwood exited Saturday’s game with back spasms.
- Another effective reliever would make the Giants’ bullpen even better, but San Francisco might not have the depth to add Andrew Miller or Aroldis Chapman.
- Los Angeles is going to have to make some roster moves to add fresh arms to its roster this weekend.
