The Cardinals find themselves 12.5 games out of first in the National League Central, and have lost five games in a row. They are losing games by being sloppy and lazy, hitting in the key situations, moving runners up. It’s things that are aren’t associated with the St. Louis Cardinals.
With the Cubs playing so well, the Cardinals may be in for a long summer, and making a trade might not even be able to get them out of this mess.
More news from around the National League Central:
- Having three catchers on a roster is certainly a tough task for a manager, but Joe Maddon seems to have a plan to get Miguel Montero, David Ross and rookie Willson Contreras playing time and keep all the guys fresh.
- After a tough April, 24-year-old Ramon Flores has found himself and has bounced back to prove that he might just be a keeper for the Brewers as they go forward.
- Paul Zeise of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette talked about the Pirates trade deadline plan, and how they should be active, but focusing towards the future.
- Forget Jay Bruce and Joey Votto. The name that fans should familiarize themselves with for the Reds All-Star is Adam Duvall.
