Good morning baseball fans!
One Boston executive says the Red Sox are prepared to wait things out, which means help isn’t coming very quickly.
But for anyone hoping a magical Boston trade was in the works to fix everything, Dombrowki emerged from behind closed doors with sobering news, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.
Miami signed Jeremy Guthrie to a minor league deal.
Washington promoted top prospect Lucas Giolito, who will start Tuesday against the Mets.
Giolito, 21, is currently ranked by MLB.com as the top overall prospect in baseball and was ranked fifth in Baseball America’s preseason ranking of baseball’s top minor-leaguers. He has spent the entire year at Double-A Harrisburg, posting a 3.17 ERA in 14 starts despite struggling to a 4.3 BB/9 in that span.
Atlanta designated Alexi Ogando for assignment.
Noah Syndergaard has reportedly been pitching with a bone spur.
Was told it's at Syndergaard's insistence the club isn't publicly acknowledging the bone spur.
