Dear lord, what a catch.

But, obviously, the human body isn’t supposed to hit solid walls at that speed, and the game-saving catch made by Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson will likely cost him some playing time.

Pederson left last night’s game in Milwaukee surrounded by trainers and with a painful grimace on his face. He was hurried into an x-ray machine, which revealed, somehow, that Pederson had avoided a fracture, and had only bruised his AC joint. Though he has only been slashing .236/.328/.476, the 24-year-old is considered central to the L.A. offense, which has under performed as a whole this season.

With the aid of anti-inflammatories, Pederson remains hopeful that his youthful vigor can do the rest, according to the L.A. Times:

"No broken bones," Pederson said. "So we’ll just see how fast my body can recover."

The Dodgers could slide Yasiel Puig into center field in the mean time, with utility man Enrique Hernandez the next man in line. Pederson will be re-evaluated, but seems to have missed time on the disabled list for now.
