Good morning baseball fans!

Houston made a notable move Friday, signing Cuban prospect Yulieski Gurriel to a five-year, $47.5 million deal.

Gurriel has been described as one of the greatest players in recent Cuban history and was the best player in Cuba before he left. He played for the Yokohama DeNa BayStars as recently as 2014, and hit .304/.349/.536. He figures to have mid-range line drive power.

Texas is expected to be active leading up to the trade deadline and has expressed interest in Jonathan Lucroy.

Yu Darvish, set to return to the Rangers’ rotation Saturday, might be one of the biggest additions to the club’s roster this summer.

Chris Archer is drawing interest on the trade market, but the Rays are laughing at the offers that have been made.
