At the time, the Arizona Diamondbacks trade of Dansy Swanson, Aaron Blair and Ender Inciarte to the Braves in exchange for starter Shelby Miller, was very questionable. It appeared as though the Braves had gotten away with the biggest heist of the offseason.

Now, in July, that thought has gotten closer to being right with Miller being optioned to Triple-A Reno. In 69 innings pitched for the D-Backs, Miller has a 7.14 ERA and a 2-9 record.

More from around the National League West:

  • The All-Star buzz is gone, and the Padres have been selling off their big-named players. They will somehow have to convince fans to buy tickets in 2017, which may be the biggest sell out of any of their moves to date.
  • While they wait for the reinforcements to arrive, the Dodgers are just striving to find some balance.
  • The Giants got into the news this weekend for the wrong reason, allowing the Padres to walk-off via a balk in the 10th inning.
  • After losing their last 43 games when trailing after seven innings, the Rockies were finally able to break that streak and get a victory against the Braves.c
