MLB trade rumors: Mystery team enters the Aroldis Chapman sweepstakes

Things are a-brewin’ as the trade deadline draws closer.

It’s that time of year again, folks:

It’s Mystery Team time.

According to Jon Heyman at FanRag Sports, a mystery team has entered the fray for Aroldis Chapman.

Clubs already in the mix for Chapman include the Nationals, the Indians, the Giants and the Cubs, though Giants beat writer Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle said that the Giants are getting “radio silence” from Yankees GM Brian Cashman.

It’s quite possible that the mystery team could be the Dodgers, who are also looking for bullpen help, as mentioned by Ken Rosenthal to have pursued Chapman. There’s no telling what the Dodgers could even begin to offer the Yankees in exchange for Chapman, though.
