The Brewers are drawing interest from multiple teams about catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Jerry Crasnick of ESPN and Baseball America tweeted that the Rangers, Indians, Astros, Red Sox, and Mets are in the mix along with a mystery team, while Ken Rosenthal tweeted that the Tigers are one of the teams talking to the Brewers.
In addition to the tweet about the Tigers, Rosenthal tweeted the following:
The #Mets reportedly offered d’Arnaud for Lucroy; perhaps #Tigers could start with McCann. #Brewers want high-end prospects as well.

#Indians also like Lucroy. Sense among some in industry is that they want him in package with #Brewers left-hander Will Smith. Unconfirmed.

Obvious question is whether #Tigers can offer strong enough package for Lucroy to trump other clubs; system is thin.

Our Scott Gelman noted before, the Mets appear to be looking for an upgrade over Travis d’Arnaud, but they might not have the prospects necessary to trade for Lucroy. Gelman also noted that the Indians are looking for catching depth while the Rangers are looking for a bat.
At this point, it all depends on which team has the trade package to offer the Brewers for Lucroy, not necessarily which team needs him the most. And with the Brewers wanting high end prospects, there’s no telling how high a price a team might pay to get one of the best catchers on the market right now.
