A hot topic of the impending trade deadline has been the Tampa Bay Rays and their plethora of young arms that can be acquired for the right price. Names like Chris Archer, Matt Moore and Jake Odorizzi are just some of the names that have been floated around.
That being said, it appears as though the Rays are very comfortable with keeping all of these young, under control arms till the winter. That would allow them to talk to all 29 teams, instead of only talking to contending teams.
More from around the American League East:
- MLB.com updated their Pipeline prospect list, including the top 100 prospects in all of baseball. For the Baltimore Orioles, it was hard to find a name there that they recognize, because they were shut out of the list.
- If a wish list could be made, here’s what the Blue Jays would want to do before the deadline.
- Add the Red Sox to the growing list of teams that are trying to get Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
- It looks like the Yankees are committed to Alex Rodriguez, and all the money that comes associated with that.
