Good morning baseball fans!

Boston is interested in adding starting pitching and has reportedly scouted Jeremy Hellickson:

Hellickson is an intriguing option, since he has experience pitching in the American League East. He started for the Rays from 2010-2014 and is having his best season since 2012, when he pitched to a 3.10 ERA over 177.0 innings with Tampa Bay.

As the trade deadline approaches, the Marlins will almost certainly be in a position to buy.

Matt Harvey is set to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. He was having the worst statistical season of his career.

Pittsburgh promoted first base prospect Josh Bell:

Bell is 23 and has long been on the radar of prospect hounds for his excellent approach, quick bat, and extra-base power. Not a traditional slugger, Bell has still managed to be exceptional at every level in his development while advancing steadily through the Pirates organization. He was hitting .324/.407/.535 with 41 walks, 53 strikeouts, and 13 homers so far this year.

Kansas City is planning to make a playoff push in the second half and wants to add a veteran starter to make that goal realistic.

Arizona signed Alexi Ogando to a minor league deal.

It’s been a rough few weeks for the Twins:

It’s a good thing the Red Sox have Aaron Hill and Michael Martinez:

This might not be the best approach for the Reds:

Great news for the Royals with regard to Wade Davis:

Very little is going right for the Angels:

Webb might receive an opportunity to join Chicago’s bullpen:
