The Oakland A’s haven’t exactly been a model for success this season, but they’ve been playing to the best of their abilities and capabilities. Coco Crisp, though, is upset with the lack of playing time, as 130 games played this season would activate a $13 million option for 2017, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Crisp, 36, has played in 93 games this season, hitting .239/.307/.410 in an outfield that currently features Jake Smolinski and Danny Valencia.
More from around the AL West:
- More news coming out of Oakland as Jed Lowrie’s season is done with bunion surgery.
- The Texas Rangers may have one of the strongest rosters in baseball right now and have a good lead in the AL West, but Shin-Soo Choo is out indefinitely after being hit by a pitch that fractured his left forearm.
- Yulieski Gurriel won’t be going to Houston just yet. The infielder will be playing some games with Triple-A Fresno this week.
