The Rangers were one of the teams considered the winners of the trade deadline, mainly behind trading for Carlos Beltran and Jonathan Lucroy. In that Lucroy deal, Texas also got reliever Jeremy Jeffress to bolster their bullpen.
That being said, there is no concern about Jeffress taking over the closer role. Manager Jeff Banister made it clear that Sam Dyson is the closer of the team, with Jeffress being brought in to length the pen’.
