The 2016 season can’t end soon enough for the Los Angeles Angels. They are on pace to win 72 games, and get the ninth pick in the 2017 draft. Besides that, what could the future look like for the Angels?
When looking at the 2017 season, obviously Mike Trout and Albert Pujols will be on the roster. Include some other guys and there’s only 13 players on the roster. That leaves 12 spots, with a lot of potential question marks among that mix.
More from around the American League West:
- The prime window of ace pitcher Felix Hernandez has probably been closed, and the Mariners missed out on that. Yet, they are trying to fix it, while they still have him.
- For the first time since injuring his hamstring, Astros shortstop Alex Bregman ran on Thursday. He is still expected to miss the rest of the season.
- The A’s pitching staff have had some injury woes in 2016, but they can be successful in 2017 as a group.
- In an effort to bolster their prospect system, the Rangers signed Cuban third baseman Yanio Perez to deal. The 21-year-old was ranked as the number 13 international prospect by MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez.
