The Pirates are “aggressively” trying to extend starter Ivan Nova:

Pittsburgh acquired Nova in advance of the non-waiver trade deadline to help it make a playoff run, and Nova has pitched well since joining the rotation. Over 55.1 innings with the Pirates, he’s pitched to a 2.93 ERA and 2.66 FIP.

Los Angeles recalled Chris Taylor to give the club infield depth:

in advance of the final nine games of the regular season. He’s hit .218 over 29 games with the Dodgers.
