Since the enigma of Gary Sanchez arrived in the Bronx, it has been a tough path for catcher Brian McCann to see the field. The main playing time for McCann is when left-hander CC Sabathia is behind the plate.
With Sanchez bursting onto the scene, the Yankees could very easy try to move the catcher. The Braves are interested in him, but the $17 million a year price tag is a high one. That being said, the number of starts for McCann as a Yankee may be getting closer and closer to zero.
More from around the American League East:
- Another aging player potentially reaching his end is 42-year-old R.A. Dickey. The Blue Jays knuckleballer is getting up there in age, and is mulling retirement. Despite thinking about it, he still feels as though there could be a market for him to continue his career.
- Rookies Trey Mancini is tapping into levels of adoration that mirror Joey Richard.
- Sometimes the number don’t tell the whole story. In the case of the Tampa Bay Rays, the numbers tell a story of a very disappointing.
- Remember Pablo Sandoval? Well, the Red Sox third baseman is getting closer to a return from shoulder surgery. The team even thinks he could be ready for the playoffs.
