For some teams, the season ends earlier than they would like it to. The Arizona Diamondbacks are one of those teams. 2016 didn’t go the way the desert envisioned it.
That means it is not too early to look towards 2017, and what a potential D-Backs roster could look like. With a lot of players still under contract, and tough to move, an early look at the 2017 roster mirrors a lot of what this current roster looks like. If some bounce backs can happen in the rotation, that roster might be good enough to compete.
More from around the National League West:
- A season filled with a bunch of injuries didn’t stop the Los Angeles Dodgers from winning the National League West. A record setting number of times using the disabled list didn’t stop them. A lot of that success can be attributed to the new manager, Dave Roberts.
- Still believe in even-year magic? The Giants may be on the wrong side of history this season; on the side of a historical collapse.
- Repeating history is rarely a good thing. The Rockies should look to the past and not repeat the bullpen construction.
- San Diego is poised to have a very early draft pick, a year after they were one of the more busier teams during the draft.
