The Brewers announced Wednesday that the club has released right-handers Joba Chamberlain and Ryan Webb.
Chamberlain and Webb both signed minor-league deals over the winter but were long-shots to make the Opening Day roster and were granted their releases to pursue opportunities with other clubs. Milwaukee will likely open the year with a bullpen mix of Tommy Milone, Jacob Barnes, Brent Suter, Jhan Marinez, Carlos Torres and Corey Knebel in front of new closer Neftali Feliz.
Chamberlain, 31, appeared in 20 games for the Indians last season, posting a 3.20 ERA. Webb logged 18 appearances for Tampa Bay, pitching to a 5.19 mark in that span.
