MLB Draft 2017: Everything you need to know

MLB: Spring Training-Media Day Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight is the start of what many MLB fans hope will be a night to remember. They hope that their favorite teams can come away with a prospect in the 2017 MLB Draft who will change their franchise forever and ultimately help them win a World Series.

For the third year, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred will make his way to the podium at the MLB Network Studios in Secaucus, N.J. and inform young ballplayers from around the country of the teams with which they will begin their careers.

As for the picks themselves, who knows what the first round holds? Will the Twins take Louisville’s Brendan McKay or Vanderbilt’s Kyle Wright at No. 1 overall? Do the Reds snag high school phenom Hunter Greene? Or will a team select a future star in the later rounds? Only time will tell, as for a group of elite youngsters, the future begins tonight.
