Duffy, 28, was charged shortly after 7:30 p.m. CT on Sunday after Kansas City lost 12-0 to the Indians. The southpaw was recently placed on the 10-day disabled list with elbow issues and the target date for his return is unknown.
Duffy, who signed a 5-year, $65 million extension last winter, owns a 3.78 ERA in 21 starts for the Royals this season. It is currently unclear if he will be disciplined by either the team or Major League Baseball.
