To get you caught up on the action from yesterday, here are the top highlights from around Major League Baseball.
First, we have one Mike Trout. He has basically been the best player on planet Earth for the last few years and he is continuing to do his thing this year. Trout had been mired in a bit of a slump, but hopefully him connecting for his 15th home run of the season will get him going again.

Here is a story that I never thought I would write about. It was Bartolo Colon’s birthday and, given his persona and age, folks often poke a bit of fun every time another year is added to his ledger. This year, his Texas Ranger teammates got in on the fun. They got Bartolo a cake and, for reasons that are unclear, smashed his face into it.
On his birthday, Bartolo not only got his cake, but he ate it too.

The Astros’ Tony Kemp made a fantastic play against the Indians on Thursday. The outfielder had to run a long way to get this ball in left field, but he got there.
We’d advise against hitting the ball anywhere near @tonykemp. pic.twitter.com/5son0oIG9q

On the offensive side of the ball, Alex Bregman connected for a home run in the Astros win. He stared this one down as he started his home run trot...but sadly there was no bat flip to be found.

Finally, we have a pitch in the dirt that bounced up, hit Shin-Soo Choo in the face, and then the catcher snatched it up and nails a speedy runner at second base. There is a lot to take in here.
