Tracking the known positive COVID-19 cases in MLB

More and more players are testing positive for COVID-19. Here is the known information so far.

MLB: NLDS-St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The big talk around the league at this moment has centered around which players have tested positive for COVID-19 and which players are opting out of the 2020 season. We are already tracking those players who have made the difficult decision to opt out, so for now we will focus on the positive cases.

While are relying on players and teams to be transparent about positive test results, the reality has been, so far, more mixed in that regard. Some teams are mentioning the number of positive cases and not the players’ names while others are including the players’ names. There are real privacy concerns and also real concerns about spreading misinformation, so this list is only going to include confirmed information and not speculating on guys who haven’t been seen in camp, etc. Below are the known COVID-19 positive cases around Major League Baseball.
