Cleveland starter Mike Clevinger has been pulled from his start tomorrow after breaking team protocol to * checks notes * party with Zach Plesac while the team was in Chicago, reports MLB’s Indians beat reporter Mandy Bell. I suppose playing the White Sox wasn’t thrilling enough for them.
Mike Clevinger also violated team rules during this past road trip. A statement from the Indians: pic.twitter.com/RS64c4vBoA

While Plesac was forced to rent a car and drive back to Cleveland on Sunday, Clevinger flew on the team jet with the rest of the players before the they knew of his wrongdoing. He also went on to defend Plesac and his actions at length just before getting on the flight .
The 29-year old will now go into quarantine for 72-hours and has to test negative for the virus before he can rejoin the team. That is, if they decide not to punish him further for lying to everyone and putting his teammates in a potentially life threatening situation. So far this season, the righty has pitched a 3.24 ERA over 16.2 innings, recording strikeouts.
Adam Plutko will take his place in tomorrow’s opener with the Cubs. The 28-year old is 1-0 so far this season over 7 innings, earning him a 2.57 ERA.
We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
