Dodgers right-hander Trevor Bauer is being accused of assault by a woman who was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against him in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The woman’s attorney stated that his client suffered “severe physical and emotional pain” at the hands of Bauer.

Bauer’s attorney, Jon Fetterolf, released a statement on Tuesday night downplaying the incident, stating that the physical contact took place in the context of a consensual sexual relationship in which the woman asked to be handled roughly.

Per the Washington Post’s Chelsea Janes, MLB is aware of the allegation and is investigating the matter:
