About a week ago, Trevor Bauer was placed on seven-day administrative leave following sexual assault allegations made against him. With that leave set to expire soon, the decision was made to extend that administrative leave another seven days and it sounds like further extensions are on the table.
Dodgers SP Trevor Bauer's administrative leave has been extended by seven days as police and the league continue to investigate sexual assault allegations against him. Unless something is resolved by then -- very unlikely -- league and union will discuss an indefinite extension.

It is worth noting that this extension was put in place to all authorities involve to continue their investigations and isn’t indicative of any new findings in the case as far as we are aware. That said, Jeff Passan correctly notes in his reporting that it does seem unlikely that those investigations will bear fruit in just another seven days. Cases such as these are weighty and complex and, as a result, require a thorough examination of the facts.
Another important note is that if there isn’t a resolution in the next seven days, it could very well behoove both the league and the player’s union to allow for an indefinite extension of that leave just to allow for the investigation to conclude normally without any artificial deadlines or expectations.
